Check ICE Immigration Custody Releases

To find someone released from ICE detention after leaving Cloud County Jail, first confirm that immigration authorities actually received the person. A county record marked for ICE can mean the local booking ended while physical custody continued. The immigration locator covers its own current and recent custody window, not every past jail stay. Exact identifiers and country of birth are important, and an older non-result has little meaning. No official source identified Cloud County Law Enforcement Center as a dedicated ICE detention facility or established a standing immigration detention contract there.

ICE Custody After Cloud County

The Cloud County Sheriff’s release or transfer event is the first record. It should identify whether the person returned to the community or went to a receiving custodian. If the destination is ICE, local criminal custody ended but federal civil immigration custody may have begun. Those are distinct legal systems.

The ICE Online Detainee Locator System is the public search for current detention and a limited set of recent releases. It does not replace the Sheriff’s exact local release time or court disposition. The receiving agency and destination code connect the county event to the immigration record.

Confirm an ICE Custody Release

Search quality depends on the identifier route. The A-number search uses a nine-digit number and country of birth. Add leading zeros when the number has fewer than nine digits. The biographical route uses exact first and last name plus country of birth, with date of birth available as an additional field.

  1. Request the Cloud County jail event and the receiving custodian or destination code.
  2. Open the official ICE locator and choose the A-number route when the number is known.
  3. Enter all nine digits and country of birth. Otherwise use the exact biographical spelling and country.
  4. Read the location and status within the locator’s time limits. A result may show current detention or a recent release.
  5. If the system does not resolve a current matter, contact the relevant Enforcement and Removal Operations field office or ICE information line.
  6. Keep the Cloud County court case separate. It explains the criminal disposition, not the later immigration result.
A transfer is not community release. “Released to ICE” closes the county booking while another custodian can retain physical control.

ICE Released Record Window

ICE attorney resources state that the locator includes people currently detained and people released from ICE custody within the preceding 60 days. This short window is unusually important for a Cloud County search. Once that period passes, an absent result says little about older immigration custody or its outcome.

The locator excludes minors. A spelling difference, incomplete A-number, wrong country of birth, recent data change, transfer, or record outside the display window can also cause a non-result. Treat absence as a reason to verify, not proof that no detention occurred.

Preserve the observation date, exact fields used, and any location or status wording displayed. A screenshot was not captured successfully for this project, so the official locator link remains the direct source. No unrelated image should fill the space.

ICE Locator Search Fields

The A-number route is generally the most direct when the number and country of birth are known. The biographical route is sensitive to exact spelling. Hyphens, multiple surnames, transliteration, and order can affect results. Try documented versions without inventing identity facts.

Do not confuse an old INS number used in a BOP locator search with proof of current ICE detention. The federal prison and immigration systems have different purposes. Likewise, Kansas VINE covers county jail custody and expressly excludes KDOC, but it does not replace ICE.

ICE Custody Release Contacts

ICE’s Detention Reporting and Information Line can assist with detention questions when the locator does not resolve a current case. The published hours are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern. The relevant ERO field office can address the agency’s current custody information.

For the county handoff, contact the Cloud County Law Enforcement Center at 785-243-8164. Ask whether the event was a community release or transfer, and request the destination agency where recorded. Staff may limit phone disclosure, so a booking-specific records request may be needed.

Cloud County Court and ICE Records

The Kansas district court docket can show the local bond, dismissal, sentence, probation order, or other legal event. It does not show the full civil immigration process. A bond order can authorize criminal release while an immigration detainer leads to continued custody.

Pair the signed court entry with the Sheriff’s actual event. Then use ICE sources for the next stage. This three-record sequence prevents a criminal case outcome from being mistaken for final physical release. The Cloud County released inmate record process gives the local request fields and court search path.

Federal immigration proceedings may require separate court or agency records. A state court cannot supply an ICE release date. Ask each custodian only for records it creates or maintains.

ICE and BOP Release Differences

BOP covers federal prison custody and historical releases within its locator period. ICE covers federal civil immigration detention. USMS often handles federal criminal pretrial transport. These systems can touch the same person in sequence, but their status terms are not interchangeable.

A BOP departure to ICE is excluded from BOP community-release statistics because custody continues in another jurisdiction. A location of “RELEASED” in BOP means no current BOP custody, not that ICE or a state lacks control. An ICE release within 60 days can appear in ODLS, while an older event may no longer show.

Start with the recorded destination rather than searching every system without context. That field directs the next verifier and helps explain why one locator has no result.

ICE Detention Serving Cloud County

No primary source reviewed established a standing ICE detention contract or a dedicated federal immigration facility at Cloud County Law Enforcement Center. No ICE detention center was identified as physically located in Cloud County. The immigration system appears in the facility map because a person can leave the county jail in federal custody.

Ask for the actual receiving agency on the individual event. Do not infer an ICE relationship from rumor, a missing roster entry, immigration background, or the presence of federal charges. Only a recorded handoff and the receiving system can support the custody description.

Older ICE Release Verification

After the locator’s 60-day released-record window, direct agency records become more important. Retain the A-number, full name variants, country of birth, approximate dates, Cloud County booking number, and recorded receiving agency. Those details help identify the correct custody episode.

The county jail event remains useful even when ICE no longer displays the person. It proves the local handoff as maintained by the Sheriff. The district court shows the Kansas case outcome. ICE records address the later immigration custody. None should be stretched beyond its jurisdiction.

If lawful access restrictions apply, respect them. A missing old locator result cannot be filled with an unsupported claim about removal, release, deportation, transfer, or current location.
